During my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at Minshuku Yomoshirou in the charming Ainokura village. This authentic experience in a traditional farmhouse was a delightful escape, with simple tatami rooms providing a cozy atmosphere. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, serving up mouthwatering dinners featuring fresh local fish and vegetables that truly showcased the flavors of the region. As a marine biologist, I appreciated learning about the area's rich history from our hosts while enjoying the stunning winter landscape transformed by a light snowfall-a truly magical sight! Although I had to navigate a few sliding doors to get to the shared bathrooms, the warmth and friendliness of the hosts more than made up for it. I highly recommend Minshuku Yomoshirou for anyone looking for an authentic Japanese experience infused with kindness and charm.
